hey there!
Welcome to my kitchen!
My name's Christine and I'm the recipe developer and food photographer behind Cherry on My Sundae. Ever since I can remember, I had a fascination with food. As a teenager, I spent endless hours at the bookstore perusing cookbooks and trying to soak in as much as possible.
My passion quickly transformed into a fulfilling career path following my studies at Boston University, where I earned a degree in hospitality administration, and my graduation from the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley. Over the past 15 years, I've worn various hats in the culinary world—from catering and private chef roles to working as a research and development chef. Currently, I find joy in my roles as a recipe developer and food photographer, and I continue to cherish each day in the dynamic culinary industry.
Beyond my love for cooking, I harbor a strong interest in traveling. I will jump at any chance I get to visit another country. So far I've been fortunate enough to visit Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, Italy, Spain, Greece, and Germany. But there are countless more destinations I am eager to discover. Traveling also helps inspire me in the kitchen, and ultimately I can share my experiences with you through my food such as this zucchini tart brought to you from Greece. If you're interested in taking a glance at my travel tips, you can check out the stories here.
Cherry on My Sundae
During my early days as a research and development chef, I decided to start a food blog. Originally, it served as a platform to document the dishes I prepared for company lunches. But over a decade later, it has evolved into a space where I share my passion for food with you. Needless to say, this journey has been nothing short of love.
Whether my inspiration comes from a dining experience or just from my cravings, these recipes reflect the food that I enjoy preparing. And I want you to be able to make them too! This blog is a testament to my fearless exploration of the culinary world – from attempting to replicate renowned dishes to creating 30-minute meals that still taste as flavorful as 3-hour meals. It's an open invitation to a diverse culinary landscape, and I hope you find something that caters to your tastes.
